"Some Greeks came and said to Philip.."Sir, we wish to see Jesus."
What an irony when Greeks came seeking a Jewish preacher. Usually people went looking for the Greeks for truth. Maybe we can join their search for the real thing, looking not to the heights of our culture, but to this mysterious one.

This favorite scripture verse proclaims God love for all the world. But to some the evidence of the world refutes this audacious claim. How do we live into this most longed for truth, and how do we live it for the world?

Christian faith does not begin with what we should do for God; it rather invites us to consider what God has already done for us, and what that act tells us about our essential selves.

The heart of Jesus' sermon on the mount calls us to love - not in warm feelings, but in hard actions. Turn the other cheek, walk the extra mile, give another garment, love your enemy. How is this even possible? The world is waiting for our answer.

The Christian doctrine of the Trinity is a reminder that we are made to live in connection with God and all of God's creation. We are saved by the ties that bind us.
